True Friendship is a Coca-Cola Latin America campaign reminding teens of the happiness that comes from choosing friendship over cruelty in those crucial crossroad moments.

The campaign features the inspiring choices that activate unity, teamwork and happiness in young people by driving the message to choose #TrueFriendship.

Through packaging, TV, OOH, social media, Vine, music with One Direction, and much more, teens were asking themselves what they would do for a true friend. And as teens talked amongst themselves about these issues, they realized they have true friends all around them after all, which made the world a happier place.

The Text / O SMS

The story follows two teen boys – Rafael and Diego – as they trade friendly jabs, play video games and chat about girls in class, at soccer practice and while hanging out after school. The crossroad of the engaging 7-minute film finds Diego reading a surprising text on Rafael’s phone when he leaves the room to grab a few Cokes from the fridge.

The short films were directed by Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lance Black (“Milk”), and encourages teens to choose empathy over bullying -- specifically aimed at the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) community.
